CAMPUS® datasheet | Ultramid® TG7S BK-102

This datasheet of Ultramid® TG7S BK-102 from BASF is provided by the international plastics database CAMPUS.

CAMPUS is organized by a group of leading international resin producers, who have agreed to test their material according to uniform conditions, based on ISO standards (ISO 10350, ISO 11403), in order to offer comparable data to the market.

You may contact the supplier for more information about this grade.

This datasheet includes:

  Ultramid® TG7S BK-102 | PA6-GF35 | BASF
Product Texts
Ultramid® TG7S is a 34% glass reinforced, heat stabilized, impact modified Polyamid 6 injection molding grade. It was developed to meet the demanding requirements of the first North American seat cushion pan/frame to bemade of an engineering plastic as opposed to metal. This material passed the Key end-use submarine impact test for General Motors H-Car Seat Pan Frame. TG7S exhibits improved strength, stiffness and notched impact properties over Ultramid® 8333G HI, at a significantly lower cost . This material is also available in black.

Applications:
Include cushion seat pan/frame and other automotive seating applications, automotive fan, power tools and trimmer components.

Product is supplied in sealed containers and drying prior to molding is not required. If drying becomes necessary, a dehumidifying or desiccant dryer operating at 80 °C (176 °F) is recommended. Drying time is dependent on moisture level.
Further information concerning safe handling procedures can be obtained from the Material Safety Data Sheet. Alternatively, please contact your BASF representative.

Injection pressure controls the filling of the part and should be applied for 90% of ram travel. Packing pressure affects the final part and can be used effectively in controlling sink marks and shrinkage. It should be applied and maintained until the gate area is completely frozen off.

Back pressure can be utilized to provide uniform melt consistency and reduce trapped air and gas. A maximum of 3.5 bar (50 psi) is recommended to minimize glass fiber breakage.

Fast fill rates are recommended to insure uniform melt delivery to the cavity and prevent premature freezing. Surface appearance is directly affected by injection rate.
